The River Rats have improved to 11-10 on the season and completed the season sweep of Ann Arbor Skyline last night with a 4-3 win. The team stormed back in the third period after being down by 1 goal going into the third. Karsen Kucharski buried the game winning goal late in the third to complete the sweep.

Friday 1/20 

The River Rats take down Milford in overtime by a score of 2-1. Kyle Fu opened the scoring in the second period off a tip in front. Milford would strike back, tying the game at 1-1. After a scoreless third period the game headed to OT. The Rats controlled OT play and Xavier Kayfesh eventually found Karsen Kucharski in the slot for the OT game winning goal!

Saturday 1/21

The River Rats win a back and forth game that came right down to the wire. Both teams were trading goals back and forth, until the rats pulled away late in the game. The River Rats pulled away with a 6-5 victory. Led by a hat trick from Karsen Kucharski and game winning goal by Josh Wagner.

The River Rats lost a hard fought SEC conference game yesterday by a score of 7-4. The Rats played hard all night and battled back from multiple multi goal deficits. The Rats only trailed by 2 goals with 2:48 to play, but could not find the back of the net to tie the game. The River Rats will get back on the right track on Saturday when we travel to Chelsea in another important SEC game.

The River Rats won a close game last night by a score of 5-4 vs Grand Blanc. Senior defenseman Brennen Bruch led the way scoring 4 goals and adding an assist as well. Last nights win improves the Rats record to 5-4 and they are currently on a 3 game win streak. The boys look to take down the number 8th ranked Saline Hornets on Saturday at 4:30pm.

The River Rats traveled to Toledo on Saturday night for a SEC conference game against Temperance Bedford. The Rats came away with a 7-3 WIN and Karsen Kucharski led the way scoring 5 goals and adding an assist for a 6 point night! The Rats now have 4 wins on the season and have won their last 2! The team hosts Grand Blanc on Wednesday at 5 o'clock and will be looking to put another W on the board!

The River Rats got back into the win column last night with 4-3 win over rival Ann Arbor Skyline. After being tied 3-3 after regulation the game went into overtime and eventually a shootout. Nathan Bowman stood tall in net and shootout goals from Nick Pauken and Brady Brown propelled the Rats to the WIN! The Rats will look to continue their winning formula when they travel to Temperance Bedford on Saturday.

The River Rats dropped a conference game last night to Saline by a score of 8-3. It was a hard fought game to the end and we never gave up and never looked defeated. The loss puts the Rats' record at 2-3. The River Rats look to get back in the Win column tonight when they travel to play Lenawee United.

The River Rats shut out cross town rival Ann Arbor Pioneer by a score of 6-0 en route to their first win of the season! Team captain Thomas Hart opened the scoring with a power play goal early in the first period. Brady Brown added another goal in the opening frame to give the River Rats a 2-0 lead after 1 period. The River Rats offense exploded in the second period with 3 more goals. Xavier Kayfesh scored on a penalty shot, Brady Brown scored his 2nd of the night on a breakaway, and Karsen Kucharski scored his first goal of the year. Rats held a 5-0 lead after 2 periods of play. The game was sealed off in the third period with a goal by Caleb Patterson off two pretty passes by Jensen Bruch and Thomas Hart. The River Rats travel to Grand Blanc on Tuesday looking for another win.

The River Rats hockey team dropped a thriller of a game last night by a score of 4-3 to Farmington United. David Patterson, of Whitmore Lake, opened the scoring on the first shot to give the lead to the River Rats. Farmington United answered with 3 goals to have a 3-1 lead.  Down by a score of 3-1 early in the third period, Nick Pauken, of Huron, scored to bring the game to 3-2. We battled back and Brady Brown, of Milan, tied the game late in the third period with 13 seconds left. Unfortunately, with 2 seconds left, Farmington United scored to regain the lead and the win. It was a hard-fought effort but we came up just a little short. The team will look to bounce back with a huge rivalry win Friday 11/18 vs Ann Arbor Pioneer. The game time is 7:00 pm.
